The Pagerank is still used in Google’s algorithm.
However, it can be assumed that it has evolved a lot since it was first defined and launched.
It is therefore a good indicator, but it is not enough.
Actually, the pagerank displayed in the Google toolbar is not the pagerank that Google uses. Indeed, the displayed value is only the value of the pagerank calculated at a given time and not the one used which is updated much more regularly.
